Manchester United goal keeper David de Gea has returned from holiday on Monday and has started his pre-season training with the Old Trafford club. While he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, the Spanish goal keeper has remained tight lipped over his future.
De Gea has refused to sign a new contract with Manchester United, but at the same time he hasn’t put the club under pressure by agitating a move.
It seems like Real Madrid are not the only club that are interested in signing a Manchester United goal keeper. La Liga club Valencia were thought to be interested in signing Victor Valdes, the former Barcelona goal keeper, who joined United during the January transfer window.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Valdes equally showed an interest in moving back to Spain, where he would play regularly at a top club, having endured a difficult year after returning back from a serious injury.
Valdes probably would remain as the second choice keeper, even if De Gea leaves the club. He is grateful to Los Che for showing an interest in him, but has decided to stay at Old Trafford and fight to become the club’s first choice goal keeper.
