According to Sport, Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes has called off his move to Besiktas after the Turkish outfit changed their terms, after having agreed a deal with the player initially.
The former Barcelona keeper has fallen out of favour at Manchester United and was linked with a move to Turkey this summer.
Having agreed terms with Besiktas, Valdes was all set to complete his Manchester United exit. However, a late twist has scuppered the deal.
The Turkish outfit agreed a deal with the Spaniard, but decided to alter the terms yesterday. Valdes had already bought plane tickets to Istanbul and was due to be confirmed tomorrow.
The player is thought to be disappointed at Besiktas’ decision and has called off the transfer.
Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has made it clear that Valdes has not got a future at Old Trafford and with three days left in the window, Valdes might have to go on loan or wait until January for another attempt to end his United career.
It will be interesting to see how Van Gaal reacts to the news and whether Valdes will be given a chance to prove himself.
David De Gea is confident about a move to Real Madrid this summer and if the transfer goes through, it might open a window of opportunity for the World cup winner.
