An entertaining first half saw Tottenham start the game on a brighter side but the Red Devils grew in authority to to take control. Louis Van Gaal’s side were unlucky not to take the lead when Juan Mata’s deflected free kick saw Hugo Lloris stranded bu the shot came off the post much to the relief of the home faithful.
United were then correctly denied a goal following an offside from Johnny Evans as goal line technology showed that the ball had crossed the line but the defender had interfered with play.
