According to El Pais, Manchester United have thrashed out an improved €60m offer for Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos.
It is no secret that Real Madrid are keen to acquire the services of Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea. But it appears that the chances of landing De Gea might be impossible unless the Madrid club are prepared to let go of their best centre back and club captain, Ramos.
Perez and Real Madrid failed to agree a new deal with their prized asset last season and Ramos is keen to leave the club in order to get what he wants (a wage package that values him as a player).
After his heroics during the La Decima campaign, Perez promised the player that he would be rewarded accordingly. However, Ramos never really got a new contract even close to his terms.
Fast forward to this summer, Real Madrid have an unhappy player on their hands, Manchester United are keen to match his wage demands and Real Madrid are keen to snap up De Gea.
Manchester United have intelligently asked for Ramos and Navas to be included in a potential deal for De Gea, forcing Real Madrid to curb their advances.
Florentino Perez is set to meet up with Sergio Ramos in China later this week and will hold talks regarding his future in the presence of new manager, Rafa Benitez.
It is understood that Ramos is not for sale and Madrid will wait till next season for De Gea if there is no agreement by the end of August.
