Parma President Ermir Kodra has revealed that the Italian club was close to join the Italian side but the club later pulled out as they were unable to conclude the deal. In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, Kodra said, “We were very close to Mario Balotelli, but we were unable to conclude the deal”
Balotelli joined Liverpool from AC Milan in a £16m transfer but has misfired since joining the Anfield side. In fact Balotelli was also linked with a loan move to Juventus but the deal failed to materialize. Manager Brendan Rodgers has also not picked Balotelli in the last few games with Raheem Sterling playing as a false nine.
In fact Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert both featured in the Reds’ 2-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend as Balotelli was ill for the game. The Mirror have also reported that Lazio are interested to bring the controversial forward to the Italian capital.
