Radamel Falcao transfer

Radamel Falcao

Manchester United have confirmed in their official site that that Colombian striker Radamel Falcao has returned to Monaco following his loan spell at the club. The 29 year old who was signed for a season long spell endured a frustrating time for the Red Devils, scoring just 4 goals in 29 appearances all season.

United had paid £6m to Monaco for Falcao’s services with an option to buy and had to pay a further £44m to make the move permanent. However, United might not be willing to take the risk as the player has failed to live to his reputation in the top tier of English Football.

A statement from the site read, “Falcao departs with the best wishes of the manager and everyone at the club.” Louis van Gaal told ManUtd.com, “Falcao is a top professional and a good human being. On behalf of myself and everyone at the club I would like to wish him well for the future.”

There is no doubt that the Red Devils will be in the transfer market to sign a quality striker as they will aim for a Premier League title challenge next season. They have been linked with Edinson Cavani and a few others and it will be interesting to see whom they sign in the summer.
