Tottenham will host Stoke City on Sunday, in what will be the second round of quick-fire Premier League fixtures after Christmas.
Spurs have made an underwhelming start to life under Tim Sherwood, with the former Spurs midfielder drawing his first match at home to West Brom on Boxing Day.
Stoke lie tenth in the table, but are only five points away from the relegation zone.
Here is the Tottenham team news:
Defence: Kyle Walker is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season, with Kyle Naughton set to deputise. The rest of the back-line should remained unchanged, with Jan Vertonghen still out with an ankle injury.
Midfield: Brazilian destroyer Paulinho should come straight back into the side, having been suspended for the West Brom game.
Christian Eriksen should also start; but Aaron Lennon may not recover from an abdominal injury in time, leaving Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lewis Holtby fighting it out for the right wing berth. Erik Lamela’s questionable form should see him start from the bench.
Attack: Sherwood’s preference for a two man strike force has seen Spurs provide more attacking intent in the past few weeks, and they should continue with Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado up top.
Prediction: 3-1 – Spurs’ new attack should cause Stoke all sorts of problems, and with Mark Hughes’ side having a number of key personnel injured or suspended, Tottenham should come out on top.
