Manchester United will face Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday at the Donbass Arena in their next Champions League tie looking to cement their position at the top of Group A.
The Red Devils have had a stuttering start to the season under David Moyes. They have already suffered three defeats in the league and have lost back to back league games against Manchester City and West Bromich Albion.
Moyes confirmed that defender Rio Ferdinand will miss the tie due to a groin injury and in his place Jonny Evans, who impressed against Liverpool, could start beside Nemanja Vidic. Brazilian defender Rafael will start on the right-back while Patrice Evra will deputize on the left.
Anderson is still injured and hence Moyes will deploy the safe pair of Michael Carrick and Fellaini at the centre of midfield. The attacking trio in the 4-2-3-1 formation will consists of Valencia on the right, Wayne Rooney at no 10 and possibly Ashley Young/Shinji Kagawa on the left.
