Manchester United will take on Swansea City at the Old Trafford on Sunday in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup tie, where David Moyes will be looking to rotate his squad to good effect as busy festive period begins to take its toll.
Moyes in his press conference confirmed yesterday that striker Robin van Persie is edging his way back to fitness. The Dutchman hasn’t featured in almost a month due to thigh injury.
England international Wayne Rooney is a doubt for this tie after aggravating his groin injury while Ashley Young will also miss out. Nani, Phil Jones and Rafael are also doubtful and could miss the tie as well.
So, how will Man Utd shape up for this game?
In the defence, Rio Ferdinand should come in alongside Jonny Evans. Patrice Evra might be rested, while Alex Buttner may get a chance as well.
In the midfield, veteran Ryan Giggs could start alongside Darren Fletcher, while Moyes could start with Javier Hernandez as a lone striker.
Prediction: 2-1; Man Utd are undefeated in their last 5 matches against Swansea in all competitions & expect them to earn yet another victory on Sunday.
