Liverpool travel to the Stadium of Light to take on Sunderland on Saturday’s early kickoff in the Premier League. It has been an emotional 2015 already for the Reds with Steven Gerrard announcing that he is leaving the club to join MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy at te end of the season. Manager Brendan Rodgers knows that his team can ill afford to drop further points in their quest for the four place. Liverpool had earlier squandered a two goal lead to draw 2-2 against bottom placed Leicester City on new year’s day.
The Reds are expected to feature in their 3-4-3 setup which Rodgers has adopted since December. Emre Can, Mamadou Sakho and Martin Skrtel should form the defensive line with Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson holding fort in midfield. Lazar Markovic and Alberto Moreno could be given the wingers’ role out wide as Gerrard could feature in a more advanced role. Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling should lead the front line.
Here is the possible Liverpool lineup vs Sunderland:
Predictions: It would be a tough game for the Reds against a Sunderland side who play well at home. I will go for a 1-1 draw.
