Sergio Aguero’s incisive finish in the second half was enough to beat Manchester United in a controversial Manchester derby played at the Etihad. The narrow victory would come as a huge relief for Manchester City who might feel they had been hard done by referee Michael Oliver’s poor decisions in the first half.
City were denied two clear penalties, the first of them when Marouane Felliani tripped Sergio Aguero but the referee waved play on. Replays clearly showed that Fellaini brought down the Argentine striker but was lucky to escape. What made it worse though, was when the Belgian turned round to give Aguero to give a piece of his mind. However, replays indicate that Fellaini might have spit on the Manchester City striker as shown in the picture below.
