Jose Mourinho is expected to take over at Old Trafford soon and his first move in the transfer market could be hijacking Chelsea’s move for Radja Nainggolan.

The Belgian midfielder has been one of the best players in Serie A over the last couple of seasons and is a prime target for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte. The Italian has already asked the Londoners to break the bank for the central midfielder.

According to latest reports, Jose Mourinho sees Nainggolan as the perfect alternative for Marouane Fellaini and is ready to hijack Chelsea’s move.

The report states that Conte has already spoken to Roma about the player, but nothing has been agreed yet. If there is a bidding war, Manchester United will be confident of landing the player due to Conte’s restricted budget in his first season.

Manchester United desperately need additions in the central midfield and adding Nainggolan would give them much needed stability and defensive cover. With Schweinsteiger and Carrick in the twilight of their careers, Nainggolan would offer the perfect blend of experience and quality.

Fellaini is expected to make way for Nainggolan this summer. The Belgian was signed by David Moyes for a fee of 27 million pounds, but never quite managed to impress at Old Trafford.

It is highly unlikely that he will be first choice under Mourinho and therefore him leaving the club for regular football is expected.
