AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has confirmed the club’s interest in Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and midfielder Marco van Ginkel.

Football Italia have quoted Galliani from the Milan Channel regarding their potential moves.  The CEO said:

“We’re going into the final hours of the market and we’ll see if we will be able to get a great centre-forward, which is our objective.

“Torres is a great centre-forward, we’ll see if he arrives or if it’s someone else, but we are working actively on the issue.”

Fernando Torres is not the only striker Milan have their eyes on though.  Tottenham’s Roberto Soldado, Liverpool’s Fabio Borini and Fulham’s Konstantinos Mitroglou were all mentioned on the Milan Channel also.

As well as Torres, Milan would have asked Chelsea over the availability of young Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel over a possible loan move to the San Siro this season.  Adriano Galliani is confident of making this move happen, saying:

“We are confident, we made our proposal to Chelsea and are now waiting for an answer. We hope to be able to sign him.”

Fernando Torres is currently Chelsea’s third-choice striker, behind Diego Costa and Didier Drogba.

Marco van Ginkel has seen limited action at Stamford Bridge after picking up a long-term injury towards the start of last season.  He only arrived from Vitesse last summer, making two Premier League appearances.
