AC Milan have completed the signing of Brazilian international Robinho on a permanent four year deal from Manchester City.

The Brazilian’s future in England has been in question for a considerable amount of time due to his failure to settle in the country.

It is in fact two years to the day since Manchester City pulled off his transfer when Sheikh Mansour flexed his financial muscle to lure him from Spanish giants Real Madrid. A British record transfer fee of £32.5million was paid in full and he instantly made an impression on his debut against Chelsea when he opened the scoring.

However his failure to settle in the North-West of England has hampered his abilities on the pitch. He was loaned back to his native Brazil back in January where he enjoyed a ravishing spell at Santos as he played an integral role in their Copa Brasil success. The 26 year old had always stated his intention to remain at the Peixe but due to the club’s financial constraints it prevented any such deal.

His return to Manchester since his participation in the FIFA World Cup has seen his future at Eastlands seriously questioned – with Roberto Mancini also naming him in City’s 25-man Premier League squad.

A host of top European clubs from Germany, Turkey and Greece have all had contact with Chief Executive Gary Cook regarding a potential deal. Robinho did in fact reject a big money offer from Turkish giants Fenerbahce and had since expressed his desire to achieve a move to either Italy or Spain.

The former Madrid man has been granted his wish as Silvio Berlusconi wins the race for his signature on the back of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival from Barcelona. Robinho flew into Milan on Tuesday where he underwent his medical. It had been touted that his move would be a season long loan deal but surprisingly it’s a permanent transfer believed to be around £22million. He has signed a four year contract at the San Siro club.

Upon his arrival Robinho expressed his delight at the move – stating his ambition with The Rossoneri.

“I am happy. I want to play with Milan because they are an excellent squad.” he told SKY Italia.

He concluded by saying.

“I want to win the Scudetto.”

It is massive boost for Milan who have now completed two huge deals in the space of twenty-four hours.
