Manchester United are primed for a summer overhaul, as we well know, with a number of players set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The list of potential transfer targets is growing by the day, with Lyon defender Samuel Umtit the latest to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

According to the Italian transfer hounds, TuttoMercadoWeb, Umtiti, who can play in the centre of defence or at left-back, is a summer target for both Manchester United and AC Milan, who are also set to revamp their squad at the end of the season.

Tottenham fans will remember the youngster for his wonder strike against them in last year’s Europa League.

Mercato365.com have claimed that the Milan watched the 20-year-old during Lyon’s 2-1 win over Bordeaux on the weekend, but could face stiff competition from United if the latest reports are to be believed.

Umtiti has been ever present at the back for the French side this season, and could cost in the region of £7m.

What do you think? Should United go for youth in their quest to reinvigorate their flagging squad? Do you remember his strike against Spurs? Let me know in the comments below…
