Manchester United welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford this Sunday as Louis Van Gaal’ men look to avenge their shocking 5-3 defeat at the King power stadium earlier this season.

United’ leaky defence helped Nigel Pearson’ side pull out one of the shockers of the season as the foxes scored five times in a thrilling comeback. However, Van Gaal will be much relived this time around with the likes of Rojo, Blind, Jones and Rafael all available for selection.

Although Evans and Smalling are doubtful for the weekend, Van Gaal will have enough defensive options to see him through the game. The only confirmed absentee for the game is Ashley Young, who is out with a muscle problem.

Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao are expected to start the game alongside Wayne Rooney and Van Persie. Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj are likely to be benched. Young forward James Wilson also looks set to be benched after a poor showing in the cup game.

Manchester United are currently fourth in the table, two points behind Southampton, who came away with a crucial victory at Old Trafford earlier this month. United will be hoping their world class attacking quartet will turn up and blitz the struggling foxes as Van Gaal’ men look to move into top three.

Elsewhere, club record signing Kramaric is expected to start for Leicester. Cambiasso, Konchesky and Hamer are also likely to come back into the starting eleven after being rested for the cup game. Upson, Mahrez and Schmeichel are set to miss out due to injuries and suspension.

Manchester United

Possible starting lineup: De Gea; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Blind; Carrick, Fellaini, Di Maria, Rooney; Van Persie, Falcao

Possible starting lineup: Hamer; Simpson, Wasilewski, Morgan, Konchesky; Drinkwater, Cambiasso; Schlupp, Kramaric, Vardy; Ulloa

Prediction: United’s attacking prowess will be too much to deal with for Leicester City. Especially without the likes of Upson and Schmeichel. The Red Devils have won all of their last five home meetings against the foxes without conceding a single goal.

Manchester United 3-0 Leicester City.
