West Ham United are set to offer 12 million pounds for Manchester United striker, Javier Hernandez.
Hernandez spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and is out of favour at Old Trafford. Although Van Gaal expressed his willingness to give the player another shot at the club, Hernandez is keen to secure a move away this summer.
Manchester United Transfer: Explosive introduction
Hernandez arrived at Old Trafford in 2010 and proved to be a shrewd acquisition for Sir Alex, who used the Mexican to devastating effect as a super sub or an alternative to Rooney/Berbatov.
The Mexican is a poacher by instinct and has scored some very important goals for Manchester United and Real Madrid.
West Ham United Transfer: Hernandez to be a Hammer?
New West Ham manager, Slaven Bilic is keen to sign the United striker this summer and bolster his strikeforce.
Enner Valencia, the first choice striker for West Ham, injured his knee last week and will be sidelined for three months. Hernandez has been identified as the prime candidate to replace Valencia and add goals to the side.
The former Chivas player has also been linked to Tottenham and Southampton.
Initially interested in Charlie Austin, West Ham have been put off by QPR’s 15 million pound valuation of the player, whose deal runs out in a year’s time.
United rejected an 8.5 million pound enquiry for the Mexican earlier, but West Ham are determined to get their man and will return with an improved offer.
West Ham have also agreed a deal for Raul Jimenez.
Should West Ham manage to land their prime target, this is what the Hammers can expect from the explosive Mexican next season.
