It seems like Edinson Cavani’s family is taking too many decisions for him at the moment. The Uruguayan is unhappy at PSG and will be looking to leave the club at the end of the season.
PSG manager Laurent Blanc usually uses him in wide positions, while Cavani craves for a more central role. He has been a great goal scorer throughout his career, and therefore adopting to an unfamiliar role is largely frustrating for him.
His future, however, is unknown. Cavani prefers a move to either Premier League or Serie A, and there are no shortage of options for him, if the reports are to be believed.
Edi Cavani’s father believes that Manchester United could be an ideal destination for his son. There are suggestions that Jose Mourinho would be looking to sign Cavani, should be become the next United manager.
“Real Madrid and Manchester United would be a good option for him we have also heard that other teams are interested in my son,” he said last month.
However, Cavani’s brother and agent, Fernando Guglielmone believes that Chelsea or Juventus would be an ideal fit for the Uruguayan striker.
“They are three big coaches, but for Edy I’d prefer the attacking game of Conte or Allegri,” said Fernando, as quoted by Sky Sports. Conte is likely to become the next Chelsea manager in the summer.
Cavani has reportedly met with Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta but the club has yet to agree a fee for the 29-year-old. He would cost around £35m (PSG won’t sell him cheap), and very few clubs in the world would pay such hefty transfer fee for his services.
Will Cavani move to the Premier League? Both Chelsea and Manchester United can match his transfer fee and wage demands, but the question remains do they at all need him?
