Radamel Falcao is set to earn a staggering £346,000-per-week during his season-long loan at Manchester United, according to Mark Ogden of the Telegraph.
Manchester United will pay the highly-rated Colombian’s wages in full after agreeing a move with last season’s French Ligue 1 runners-up AS Monaco.
The Red Devils may have secured one of the hottest transfer targets of the summer but it comes with a heavy price. Manchester United will be paying Monaco £6 million and Falcao £18 million. There is even an agreement in place for United to sign him permanently next summer.
Real Madrid and Manchester City had previously been interested in Falcao but even the 2014 UEFA Champions League winners and one of the Premier League’s richest clubs didn’t want to splash out a huge sum on the 28-year old.
The Colombian striker landed in Manchester earlier today to undergo a medical at the Premier League giants before the transfer is confirmed.
Monaco paid Atlético Madrid €60 million last summer for the striker who missed the second half of the season and the 2014 World Cup with a cruciate ligament injury.
Prior to this transfer being completed, United have already spent £146.3 million on new signings this summer, Falcao’s arrival will take the recruitment outlay beyond £150m with the loan fee.
