Manchester United could make a move for exciting midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as they are looking to sign a replacement for Paul Pogba.
According to a report from Football Insider, the Red Devils sent scouts to observe the 21-year-old during the French club’s Europa League match against PSV Eindhoven two weeks ago.
United’s talent spotters are also set to observe him during the return game in France on Thursday.
The talented midfielder has been earning rave reviews for his performances in Ligue 1 this season. He has clocked up 18 appearances across all competitions this campaign, earning two goals to his name (stats from Transfermarkt).
The France international was also spectacular last season for Monaco when he racked up 36 league appearances and contributed two goals and four assists.
As per Football Insider, the Premier League giants are prepared to line up a deal for the young player if they get encouraging reports from the scouts.
However, several other European clubs are also said to be interested in him and so United face competition for Tchouameni.
The Red Devils are looking for a replacement for Paul Pogba. The Frenchman’s contract at Old Trafford is set to expire in the summer and he has failed to agree a new deal so far.
Tchouameni is a hugely talented midfielder who is capable of shining at Old Trafford.
And he is only 21-years-old, so he has years ahead of him to improve his game.
