According to the Guardian, Louis Van Gaal is thought to be considering a move for Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian has scored 53 goals in his last three seasons in the Premier League and has been attracting a lot of interest from Germany. The former Chelsea striker is still only 22 and will continue to develop.
Lukaku’s impressive goalscoring tally at a top league has attracted Van Gaal’s attentions and the Dutchman is keen on signing a young Premier League striker. The Old Trafford outfit have been linked with a £50m move for Harry Kane earlier this month, but it is believed that Tottenham will not sale at any price.
Everton have always been willing sellers for the right price, but the Toffees showed their ambition when they splashed £28m on the Belgian and will keen to hold on to him, unless there is an opportunity to rake in a massive profit.
Lukaku to United links seems more like wishful thinking as opposed to concrete interest. Manchester United are desperate for a young striker and Lukaku recently expressed his desire to play in the Champions League.
Only thing that is certain is Manchester United will definitely splash the cash on a quality young forward this summer. But is is extremely unlikely that Everton will let go of Lukaku, unless a ridiculous offer comes in.
Meanwhile, the Old Trafford giants could receive a huge boost in their pursuit of Benzema if Madrid continue to push for Sergio Aguero and Mauro Icardi, both of whom have been linked with a move to Bernabeu.
