Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo after his amazing performance against Brighton on Tuesday.
The Portuguese superstar was facing some criticism after he failed to score in six club appearances, his worst goal drought in over a decade.

However, he broke that run last night as he scored a thunderbolt to provide a vital contribution in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over the Seagulls.
Yves Bissouma gifted possession to Ronaldo who blasted the ball past the goalkeeper after skipping past a few challenges in the 51th minute.
Brighton didn’t recover after that goal as Lewis Dunk received a red card a few minutes later for denying Anthony Elanga a clear goalscoring opportunity.
United subsequently squandered several scoring chances, with a few of those falling to Ronaldo.
The Red Devils finally extended the scoreline through Bruno Fernandes with the final kick of the game.
Rangnick was full of praise for Ronaldo following the match at Old Trafford. He told the club’s official website:
“Yes, it was an amazing goal. Not only an important one but an amazing goal. Overall, it was also a good performance by Cristiano.”
“Energetically, he was online, he was always trying to help the other team-mates. I think, in the last weeks, that would be the best performance by him and very, very important for us.”
Manchester United desperately needed a victory after they suffered two disappointing draws in the Premier League this month.
The Red Devils got just the result that they needed on Tuesday as they picked up full points from the home encounter to boost their hopes for a top-four finish.
They have now moved to fourth in the league standings, having secured 43 points from 25 matches.
