Perez had earlier joined Benfica in 2011 after signing a five-year deal from Argentine side Godoy Cruzfor for a fee worth around €5.5m. The player’s meteoric rise for the Lisbon based club has attracted a lot of interest from English giants Manchester United who were very keen to sign him in the summer.

The midfielder had earlier dropped a hint regarding his future and we had reported exactly a week ago that Valencia were the favourites to snatch the player from the grasp of the Red Devils, the latter who are desperate to get back on track after a disastrous 2013-14 campaign.

A technically versatile midfielder with a wide range of passing array and possessing an immense work rate, Perez would seamless fit into Valencia, who now after the take over by Singaporean businessman Peter Lim, are financially well equipped to compete in the market.

Valencia re keen to get the deal done as quickly as possible as the La Liga side understandably wants to avoid getting into a bidding war for the player late on if Manchester United table a last minute offer for acquiring the services of the Argentine.
