PSG striker Edinson Cavani could leave the French champions in the summer. And Manchester United or Real Madrid could be an ideal destination for the Uruguayan striker, claims Cavani’s father.
Cavani is reportedly unhappy at PSG. He is a world class striker but hardly gets to play in his preferred #9 role. Although he has never publicly demanded a move, but widespread reports (mostly in the French media) suggest that he is likely to move next summer.
In fact, PSG are now ready to sell him as well. Some of the players in the PSG squad are fed up with his attitude, while Laurent Blanc himself has hinted recently that the door is open for Cavani, should he decide to leave.
Blanc has mostly used him in wide positions but such is Cavani’s goal scoring prowess, he has still managed to score 14 goals for the French club in all competitions.
Cavani has been linked with a move to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Arsenal. His father, however, believes that Manchester United should be an ideal destination for Cavani next summer.
“Real Madrid and Manchester United would be a good option for him we have also heard that other teams are interested in my son,” he said as quoted by Sport.
According to reports in Italy, Cavani is likely to join United, if Jose Mourinho becomes their next manager. The former Napoli star is a great striker and would improve any team in the world but at the same time he would cost around £35m; the transfer fee is too much for a 29-year-old striker.
