Some Manchester United fans on Twitter reacted to Paul Pogba’s performance during France’s penalty shoot-out defeat to Switzerland at Euro 2020 on Tuesday.
The world champions were favourites for the round of 16 clash but went behind after just 15 minutes as Haris Seferovic opened the scoring.
The Swiss had the opportunity to double their advantage in the 55th minute, but Ricardo Rodriguez’s penalty was brilliantly saved by Hugo Lloris.
France then stepped up with two quick-fire goals from Karim Benzema before the hour mark before Pogba’s stellar strike to make it 3-1 in their favour.
Pogba was afforded space to shoot from outside the box, and he made it count with a sublime curling effort to find the top left corner of Yann Sommer’s net.
Just when it seemed that France were cruising to a win, the Swiss made a stunning comeback with Seferovic and Mario Gavranovic pulling them level.
Pogba was partly at fault for the third goal as he lost possession in the centre of the park before Xhaka’s superb line-splitting pass for Gavranovic.
Les Bleus eventually lost the game on penalties. Some United fans were delighted with Pogba’s display. Others were critical over the error leading to the equaliser.
Twitter reactions:

If Pogba got the same love he gets playing for France when he plays United, I bet he'd be a much greater player for us. Too bad our fanbase is toxic af. #MUFC

Its a perfect goal from Pogba. Physics might have loved to explain that goal.

Paul Pogba has been the best player at this tournament by a country mile.

Today, Paul Pogba was on full display. He can play out of this world and he can also have ruin all his hard work in a second. This is the frustration of United fans.

And see Pogba FC trying to blame everybody else for the goal apart from Pogba.
Do you realise what it’s like as a defender when your midfielder loses the ball unexpectedly?
Puts you completely on the back foot with the Swiss attack coming at you at pace.

Pogba was one of the standout players for France at Euro 2020. However, he had one bad moment yesterday leading to Switzerland’s late equaliser.
This should not concern most United fans. The main focus will be on sorting the midfielder’s future with his contract expiring in June next year.
The £54 million-rated star will earn a much-needed break with Les Bleus’ early exit. United plan to hand him a bumper £400,000-a-week contract.
