Reports from the TMW website in Italy have given a major development regarding Edinson Cavani’s future at Paris Saint Germain. The report cites an interview of Cavani with GQ where the striker claims that he is ready to leave the Paris based side in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The recent development will come as a major boost for Manchester United who have been linked with the Uruguayan over the past few months. In fact Cavani’s agent had also earlier claimed that his client would be open to a move to England or Spain.
The 28 year old has been quoted saying in the interview, “In Paris I cannot play with continuity as a central striker, they moved me to the outside. All this can make me leave PSG? I want to play up front. I do not know what will happen next season.”
There is no doubt that United will go shopping for a quality striker in the summer in an attempt to boost their title challenging credentials for the coming season. While Radamel Falcao has largely disappointed in his loan spell, Robin Van Persie has also struggled with injuries. Javier Hernandez too could also be sold following his loan spell at Real Madrid.
However PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has already claimed that a bid in the region of €50m could only entice them to part company with Cavani. Juventus too are also interested in the player who enjoyed a stunning spell at Serie A side Napoli before his switch to PSG in 2013.
