Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed today that the club is working towards extending the contract of James Milner.
Manchester City midfielder, James Milner has been linked with several moves away from Etihad, following speculations that the England international is not ready to extend his contract yet.
The Manchester City star is out of contract in the summer and the likes of Liverpool have been monitoring his situation closely. The versatile midfielder has been a key part of City’s squad and has made vluable contributions to their success in the last few seasons.
Milner joined City from Aston Villa in 2010 and has established himself as one of the most professional and admired figures in the dressing room since then.
During his pre-Everton presser today, Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that the club are extremely appreciative of Milner’s contributions and would like to offer him an extension. Further, Pellegrini also revealed that Milner wants to stay at City and therefore both parties should be able to reach an agreement.
