Louis van Gaal will be officially confirmed as the next permanent manager of Manchester United within next Monday. The Dutchman, who is currently focussing on Holland’s World Cup campaign says he “can manage the situation” of handling both jobs at the same time.

According to reports from the Guardian, the Dutchman has already handed Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman, his list of desired players.

Manchester United are looking to spend big this summer and the new manager will be handed a transfer war-chest to bring in quality players. The top potential acquisitions includes Dutch winger Arjen Robben, his club team-mate Thomas Muller and Borussia Dortmund central defender, Mats Hummels.

Van Gaal also have given his approval for Southampton’s left back Luke Shaw and Bayern Munich’s world class midfielder Toni Kroos.

United had offered £27m for Shaw, the young talented left-back from Southampton, but it was rejected. The Red Devils are determined to land him in summer and would approach again with an improved offer.

As for other targets, it will be interesting to see, how Manchester United can lure them without Champions League football.
