Jurgen Klopp is ready to sign the Porto wonderkid Ruben Neves. Liverpool have sounded out the player’s representatives about a summer move.
Neves is one of the most talented young players in world football and Liverpool are desperate to land the 18 year old defensive midfielder.
According to Mirror, Liverpool have already made a formal approach for the player who are interested in the proposal. Also, Liverpool are prepared to thrash out a mega-money deal which will make Neves the best paid teenager in world football.
Neves is the youngest player to feature for the Portgual U21s and captained Porto earlier this month. The 18 year old has also impressed Jose Mourinho during Porto’s Champions League clash with Chelsea.
The young defensive midfielder controlled the game beautifully and provided significant defensive cover for his back four.
It is believed that Liverpool have are ahead of the queue and are ready to splash the cash for Neves. The Porto midfielder has a 29 million pound release clause. It is still unclear whether Liverpool are willing to match that price.
Liverpool are in desperate need of signings in the central midfield and Neves would be perfect addition alongside the likes of Emre Can, Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson.
Finally, Liverpool will be disappointed with the news that defender Joe Gomez will miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury he picked up with England this week.
