According to reports from France, Liverpool are set to beat Real Madrid in the race to sign Colombian striker Radamel Falcao.
A source close to French club AS Monaco admitted that they are aware of strong interest from Liverpool for the 28-year-old goal machine, but they haven’t received any formal offers yet.
French magazine Le 10 Sport now claim that Liverpool are in pole position to land Falcao. The Reds want to make the best use of their funds received from the sale of Luis Suarez and want to sign Falcao on a season long loan.
French radio station RMC claim that Liverpool are preparing a tempting €15m loan offer for Falcao, while could be willing to pay up to €50m to make the deal permanent.
Liverpool have already made eight signings in the summer so far but should they succeed in landing Falcao, not only the squad will be bolstered, but they will be considered as a genuine threat for the title challenge.
