Liverpool fans will be excited by the news of the return of their summer signings Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino, along with defender Dejan Lovren.
The two attacking players and the former Southampton star missed last fixture due to injuries. The Belgium international has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, while back and ankle injuries ruled out the South American forward and the centre-back.
Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers as the Reds’ new manager after the Merseyside club decided to show the exit door to the former Swansea boss. The German will take charge of his first match at Anfield when Liverpool host Rubin Kazan in the Europa League clash. The first two match against Bordeaux and FC Sion ended in a disappointing draw.
“We have three players back in training – Benteke, Firmino and Lovren,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.
“That’s good, more options, not really starting options but for the squad. Yesterday they joined team training and it was OK. Now we will see what we need for this game, who we’ll take with us and who will stay here for more training. But, of course, it’s very good for us that these players are back.”
