According to reports in Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside giants have been warned that their £16m (€20m) offer might not be enough to lure Real Madrid target Alberto Moreno to Anfield in the summer.
Liverpool are determined that they won’t get into a bidding war with other clubs and have been acting swiftly to bring the Sevilla player to Merseyside before other big clubs jump into the bandwagon to sign the 21 year old left back.
The Reds have already tabled an offer worth £16m (€20m) to the Spanish outfit for their young prized asset making midfielder Suso as a bit in the deal.
Sevilla President Jose Castro had earlier confirmed the Reds’ interest in Moreno and also admitted that he won’t stand in the way of the player if the latter opts for a move to Anfield in the summer.
Moreno had a brilliant season under the belt and his meteoric rise for the Andalusian club saw his getting picked for the preliminary 30 man squad for Spain for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil. Liverpool are in desperate need for a left back after home grown player John Flanagan has been used as a make shift player in the back line thanks to Jose Enrique’s injury.
