Liverpool have made a bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can, according to reports in Germany.
According to reports in German newspaper Bild, Liverpool are rumored to be close to activating the €12 million release-clause of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can.
The German youngster is known for his versatility and has made a great impression this season. He can also play at left back, centre midfield and attacking midfield and played an important role of Leverkusen this season.
The German-Turkish footballer is often dubbed as ‘The new Michael Ballack’ and will cost the Merseyside outfit €12m.
He signed a four-year-contract with Leverkusen after emerging out from Bayern’s youth academy. The Bavarians have a buy back clause though and it remains to be seen whether they want him back at Allianz Arena.
Recently, German magazine Kicker reported that indeed there has been an interest from Liverpool. The Reds have inquired about the youngster’s availability as they see him as a bright prospect for the future.
We have checked reports in Turkish newspapers as well. Daily newspaper Milliyet reporting the same citing the Bild source but they claim there is a high chance the youngster can move to England this summer. Another newspaper Habertukr also reported the same.
