Leeds United have previously been linked with a move for Cagliari ace Nahitan Nandez.

However, Calciomercato are reporting that Inter Milan have now joined the race for the 25-year-old midfielder.

He has a contract with the Italian club until 2024 and a release clause of around €36 million.

His suitors will not have to pay that much as Cagliari are willing to listen to offers and negotiate because of their financial situation.

The Italian outfit are struggling financially due to the coronavirus pandemic and are open to sales to balance their books.

Nandez could be sold for a knockdown price this summer, and Leeds must make the most of this opportunity.

SL View: Nandez seems a good fit for Bielsa’s style

There is no doubt that Leeds could use more depth in central midfield, and the South American midfielder should theoretically be a good fit.

Nandez would help the team defensively, with his excellent pressing ability giving opposition midfielders plenty to think about.

A move to Elland Road would be a step up in the Nandez’s career, and the opportunity to work with Marcelo Bielsa could be tempting for him.
