Real Madrid attacking-midfielder Kaka has re-joined Serie A side AC Milan – keeping with the Italian outfit until 2015.

A number of sides across Europe had expressed an interest – most notably Arsenal. But choosing his former side AC Milan was an easy decision for Kaka.

‘Last night after 2000 CET, thanks to the traditionally good relationship between the two clubs, Real Madrid and Milan reached and formalised an agreement for the transfer of Ricardo Kaka into Rossonero colours. And overnight, a little before 0300 CET in the morning, an agreement was reached with the world-class Brazilian.’ – an AC Milan statement read.

The 31-year old spent four years playing for Real Madrid, but failed to show the same form which led him to originally be signed for the La Liga side. Extended periods sidelined with injuries also played havoc on Kaka’s form. A third of his appearances for Madrid came from the bench.

He’s signed a two-year deal with Milan after undergoing advanced talks in the last two days.

AC Milan supporters are delighted with the news of the Brazilian international’s return, and are hoping he can show exactly what he used to produce on a regular basis before joining Real.

Upon his arrival in Spain, he broke the transfer record in signing for around £56M. The fee paid to sign him back has not yet been disclosed, but Madrid are said to have taken a giant loss on the figure.

Kaka expressed his delight ‘to be home’, and is hoping he can finally get himself back in favour for the Brazilian national team.

Scoring 15 goals in 51 games for Brazil, he wants to further add to his caps, and reach potentially one last World Cup before ending his career.
