Jose Mourinho is not happy with Manchester United’s transfer dealings so far.

According to Sky Sports, the manager is believed to be discontent that the club has only brought in defender Victor Lindelof ahead of the pre-season tour of the US. The report adds that Mourinho identified “four key positions where United needed to strengthen to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at the start of the summer”.

United have been “close to signing” Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata for a while now, but the deal hasn’t been put to paper. Mourinho wants to make sure that Morata can be brought to the club as soon as possible as the first-team squad is set to begin training at Carrington on Saturday

The Red Devils are reportedly being forced to wait to finalise the signings as other clubs are keen on bringing in replacements before allowing their players to leave for the Premier League giants.

Needless to say, it doesn’t put Mourinho in a good mood as the manager would naturally want to have his squad for next season in place before embarking on the three-week pre-season trip to the United States. It is imperative for the new additions to play the pre-season to ensure they can get acquainted with their new teammates and get accustomed to the manager’s tactics and style.

Mourinho ensured United got a Champions League spot for Manchester United last season courtesy Europa League glory. However, in order to compete in all four tournaments in the coming season, and to better a sixth place Premier League finish, the club will need reinforcements in the summer and the manager has the right to be dissatisfied at the stalled transfers.
