After a spicy end to the 2009/2010 season of the Serie A, Roma has failed to reproduce the form they did from last season. Whereas in Milan, Inter are going as well as they have been for the last five seasons.

Inter finished only two points ahead of Roma last season but this time around, but they now have a massive eight point lead over 19th place Roma after four games each.
AS Roma
Roma failed to win at home securing two draws and their away games have been disasters – specially the 5-1 pounding at the hands of Cagliari.
Francesco Totti and Daniele de Rossi, both, missed the Wednesday’s defeat at Brescia through injury but a statement released a statement that both will be included in the squad. Former Liverpool defender John Arne Riise returns after several weeks out with an injury and Nicolas Burdisso will be back from suspension.
Philippe Mexes is banned for three games and goalkeeper Julio Sergio is out for a month with ankle ligament injury. That will open gates for Bogdan Lobont of former number one Doni.
Inter Milan
Lets start with Rafael Benitez’s comments about Diego Milito and Samuel Eto’o:
“I didn’t have any doubts about him [Milito]. These players have the right mentality. I knew it was just a matter of time before we started doing the things we needed to do.”
“Right now, he’s [Eto’o] the one who has the most confidence, but he can play even better.”
Recently during the game against Bari, a disruption came when Eto’o refused to allow Milito to take a penalty. Benitez covered it up by saying:
“Eto’o took it because right now he’s got a little more confidence with penalties. The next time it will be Milito’s turn.”
Inter are going to be without Javier Zanetti, Walter Samuel and Marco Materazzi so Ivan Cordoba will probably play in central defence.
They sit pretty on top of the league, one point ahead of the surprise early runners Chievo Verona.
Head-to-Head
In the last ten encounters between the two, Inter have won on five occasions including the double last season whereas Roma has only won twice. Inter scored 19 goals in those ten matches as compared to Roma’s 13 and Inter did not fail to score in a single game.
Comparing their performance this season so far, Inter are scoring twice as many goals a game as Roma but they’re conceding a goal every two games. Roma are conceding 2.25 goals a game.
Roma’s best result is the 0-0 draw with Cesena and Inter’s worst result is their 0-0 draw with Bologna. Also, Roma has still to win at home and Inter are still to lose away from home – not that they’ve lost at home this season.
Prediction
It will be comfortable win for Inter Milan unless Claudio Ranieri can perform a miracle and get a point out of the game. Inter will score at least two to three goals more than Roma. Maybe even four.
