Liverpool star Glen Johnson looks certain to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window with his agent claiming that the right back is looking for a new club. The Daily Mail reports that Johnon, whose contract with the Reds is set to expire in the summer, could opt for a move abroad for a new experience.
Johnson’s agent Jonathan Barnett has claimed that his client is looking to go somewhere where he can turn around his career’. This certainly indicated that the English International does not see his long term future for the Anfield side.
Barnett was quoted saying, “He’s obviously looking for things at the moment. He’s looking at many clubs. Glen is obviously looking for somewhere where he can turn around his career. That’s the most important thing for him. (Somewhere) where he can play nicely under a good club that’s challenging for things. That is where he wants to be.”
We have been reporting for quite some time now that Italian side Roma are interested and Johnson is free to talk to clubs with less than six months remaining on his Liverpool contract.
Barnett told Roem based media outlet Roma Press, “I can’t really say if he is considering Roma, we’ve had no contact with Roma, although Rome would be a lovely place for him. Ashley Cole absolutely adores it there, I represent him as well. Ashley thinks very highly of Rome but we’ve had no contact with Roma regarding Glen.”
