Finally there is some good news for Arsenal fans from Italy. Tuttosport have reported that AC Milan have offered Italian striker Mario Balotelli to the Gunners for just €10m plus Costa Rican World Cup star Joel Campbell.
Balotelli has been linked with the London club for quite some time now and was pictured last week in front of the Arsenal logo while shopping with his girlfriend.
Earlier the former Manchester City striker was heralded as the scapegoat for Italy’s disastrous World Cup campaign. The 23 year old’s agent Mino Raiola had however earlier flirted with the rumours linking his client with the Gunners saying, “Arsenal are one of the very few clubs who can afford to have Mario’s services. ”
Moreover Milan’s vice president Barbara Berlusconi had also claimed that the striker wan’t irreplaceable. Moreover, club President Silvio Berlusconi had also admitted that he was confident of selling the former Manchester City man to a “top English club” for €35m. However the recent developments comes a major shocker.
There is no doubt that Joel Campbell had a fantastic World Cup for Costa Rica but the 22 year old who spent the last season on loan with Olympiacos was touted to make an impression at the Emirates this season. The youngster joined Arsenal in 2011 but is yet to feature for the Gunners after several other loan spells in FC Lorient and Real Betis.
Would Milan’s offer be enticing for Arsene Wenger to acquire the services of a proven Premier League striker but with disciplinary issues?
