England will face England, Russia Slovakia and Wales at Euro 2016 after the draw was completed moments ago.
Roy Hodgson’s side will kick off their campaign on Saturday 11 June versus Russia at Marseille’s Stade Vélodrome, before facing Wales in Lens on Friday 16 June before concluding the group against Slovakia in Saint-Étienne.
Hosts France will be expected to win their group as they come up against Switzerland, Romania and Albania.
World Cup winners Germany have been drawn against Ukraine, Poland and the Northern Ireland.
Euro 2016 takes place in France this summer; the country where the inaugural championship took place 55 years ago.
2014 World Cup winners Germany enter the tournament as the bookmakers’ favourites and may only be challenged by Spain and France in terms of going all the way in this tournament.
It is the first tournament with 24 nations competing and follows the same format of USA 94 when the FIFA World Cup last had the same number of entries.
The winners of Group A, B, C and D will play a third-placed team, whereas the winners of Groups E and F will play a second-placed team in the first knock-out round. Yes, 16 of the 24 nations make it through the group stage.
