Liverpool forward Luis Alberto is set to complete his season-long loan move to Malaga today, according to reports from Spain.
The 21-year-old who joined Liverpool last season from Sevilla had failed to make a bright impression and managed only nine league appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ team. However, Liverpool board feels that the youngster needs more exposure and regular game time under his belt, which he will struggle to get at Anfield next season.
According to reports from AS, Alberto will join Malaga on a season-long loan, after a deal has been agreed and will complete his medical today. Furthermore, Malaga will have a buying option at the end of the season.
Clearly, it suggest that Alberto’s Liverpool future is almost as good as over, unless he impresses heavily during this loan period.
Liverpool meanwhile are closing in on Belgium striker Divock Origi, who scored the winner for the Red Devils against Russia last Sunday. The 19-year-old could become the third signing of the summer for the Reds, following the captures of Rickie Lambert and Emre Can.
Will it be a good move for Alberto? Does he have any long term future at Anfield? Share your thoughts below…
