Chelsea striker Diego Costa has informed the London club that he wishes to leave this summer.
The former Atletico Madrid striker has been linked with a move back to Spain and it seems that Diego Simeone is keen on a reunion.
Daily Star are claiming that the Spanish giants have made their move for the striker and a 40 million pounds bid has been submitted.
Atletico Madrid are determined to strengthen their side after narrowly missing out on a league title and the Champions League. Simeone’s side made it to the final of the European cup only to be beaten by Real Madrid once again.
With the likes of Griezmann and Torres already at the club, Costa’s signing would out Atletico on par with the likes of Real Madrid in terms of attacking talent.
The Chelsea star was phenomenal under Simeone during his time at Atletico Madrid and had a spectacular debut season in England as well.
It will be interesting to see if the Blues accept the big money bid from Atletico Madrid now. They have already signed Michy Batshuayi from Marseille for a fee of 33 million pounds earlier this week.
