Chelsea usually have a good track record of sending most number of players on loan in a season. And Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem is usually the preferred destination of most of these loanee players.
Danilo Pantic, the highly-rated Serbian midfielder, is one of such players registered with Chelsea, and currently plying his trade in Holland. The 19-year-old joined the Dutch club on loan in 2015, but has made only six league appearances till date.
He is naturally frustrated with the lack of game time, and has confirmed that he wants to return at Chelsea to train properly.
Pantic hasn’t made any appearance for Vitesse since November, and has missed the last 15 games in the Dutch top-flight. The Serb couldn’t hide his frustration, and has spoken out over his limited / lack of opportunities.
“I want to come back to Chelsea, just to train,” he said.
“Why am I in Vitesse if I am not good enough? I am crazy! I’ve made no mistakes. If I had a chance and blew it, I would keep quiet.
“Maybe in Vitesse they don’t like us Serbs: Nemanja Matic did not get a chance here either and Uros Djurdjevic played 22 matches in a year and a half.
“There are five of us here at Vitesse from Chelsea [Dominic Solanke, Isaiah Brown, Lewis Baker and Nathan are the others] and none of us are playing. That means something is wrong.”
What is more frustrating here is out of those six games he has played for his club, all have come as a substitute, earning him a total of just 106 minutes on the pitch. Surely, the development has been halted.
