Tim Sherwood will take his men to St James’ Park as struggling Aston Villa face Newcastle United in the league tie scheduled between the two sides on Saturday.

Villa recently sacked Paul Lambert as their manager after poor set of results and appointed the former Tottenham boss as his successor at Villa Park earlier this month. He already tastes his first defeat as Villa manager as he saw his side suffer a 2-1 defeat to Stoke City at home.

It is the first time Sherwood will be the manager of Villa in an away fixture and he will be looking to bounce back with a win against the Tyneside club.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew left for Crystal Palace and they have managed just one win in the Premier League in this calendar year, which was a 3-0 win against Hull City away from home.

The confirmed starting XI of both teams are given below:

Newcastle United: Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Haïdara; Obertan, Sissoko, Abeid, Ameobi; Rivière, Cissé.

Aston VillaGuzan, Hutton, Okore, Clark, Lowton, Sinclair, Delph, Cleverley, Westwood, Agbonlahor, Benteke
