Swansea City have confirmed their striker Michu have joined Napoli on a season-long loan.
The statement on the Welsh club’s official website read, “Swansea City can confirm that Michu has joined Napoli on a season-long loan with an agreed option to buy.”
“The 28-year-old completed a medical earlier today and will now link up with Rafa Benitez’s side ahead of the new campaign,” it added.
Michu joined the Liberty Stadium club from Rayo Vallecano in 2012 and was signed by the former Swansea manager Michael Laudrup. The Spaniard was an instant success in the Premier League and was considered as one of the bargain buys of that season.
However, injury and the arrival of the Ivory Coast international Wilfried Bony saw him being the second choice striker, behind Bony. Michu was linked with a move to Napoli earlier this summer and has now joined Rafael Benitez’s side on-loan.
