Man Utd take on high-flying Newcastle Utd in today’s early afternoon kickoff at Old Trafford.
Utd manger David Moyes has come in for some bitter criticism after Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Everton. Currently 12 points behind the pace in 9th place; the Scot will be desperate to register a much needed win today, in order to placate the growing state of unrest around the club.
Newcastle currently lie one point ahead of the Red Devils in 7th place; and until last week, were on a good run of form, having won their last 4 Premier League games. The 3-0 defeat at Swansea last week will have brought them back down with a bump; but a win at the Champions would leave them elated.
Here are the confirmed starting lineups:
Man Utd: De Gea; Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Evra; Nani, Jones, Cleverley, Januzaj; Hernandez, van Persie.
Subs: Lindegaard, Ferdinand, Anderson, Valencia, Young, Zaha, Welbeck.
Newcastle: Krul, Debuchy, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon, Cabaye, Tiote, Anita, Sissoko, Remy and Gouffran.
