Of all the Chelsea players that are plying trade elsewhere on loan, none of them have made a significant impact than Juan Cuadrado for Juventus.
I was certain that the Colombian would shine in Italy. He is a brilliant player and did exceptionally well with Fiorentina before moving to Chelsea. The slow paced nature of Serie A suits his style, where his burst of pace from the flanks adds a new dimension to the side. His trickery, pace and movement is a stock weapon and has been effectively used by Juventus this season.
No wonder, why Cuadrado failed to make an impact in the Premier League, where the games are played at a faster pace, and physicality predominates over technical aspects and patient build ups.
The player himself is enjoying life in Italy and would happily continue at Juventus. It is now up to the club to come an agreement and complete a permanent move for Cuadrado, who has three goals and five assists to his name in 12 league starts.
Juventus’ sporting director Beppe Marotta on Sunday hinted that the club are working on securing a permanent move for the Colombian international.
“We took a chance, taking a player on loan,” Marotta said, relayed by Football Italia.
“We’re considering, there’s a gentleman’s agreement with Chelsea. He’s a player who brings something different to Allegri’s team.”
That doesn’t mean Cuadrado cannot play for Chelsea again, especially if Massimiliano Allegri takes charge of the Blues next season.
According to reports from The Mirror, Chelsea have identified Max Allegri as the club’s first choice target to become their next manager in the summer.
John Cross reports that Chelsea have “sounded out his representatives” and the club is very happy with the work he has been doing with the Italian champions.
Chelsea have reportedly considered / are considering the possibilities of bringing either of Antonio Conte or Diego Simeone to Stamford Bridge next summer as well.
