Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma could be loaned out to Turkey in the January transfer window, according to French magazine Le 10 Sport. The Frenchman has been on the fringes for most parts this season and manager Jose Mourinho may explore the option of sending him elsewhere for him to gain more game-time.
Zouma, bought by Chelsea from Ligue 1 outfit St. Etienne in January this year, was loaned back to the French side for the remainder of last season. Included in the first-team squad this year, the 20 year-old has made 5 appearances so far in all competitions. In the Premier League though, he has played only once, as the combination of captain John Terry and Gary Cahill looks nearly impossible to break.
With playing time vital for the youngster’s progress and development, a loan move may well be a good option for both parties. Turkish newspaper Fotomac has reported that Besiktas are interested in finalising a loan deal for Zouma in the coming weeks.
