It looks like as if Jose Mourinho has already started making plans to defend his newly owned Premier League title for the coming 2015-16 season. If reports from the ever reliable Gianluca Di Marzio website from Italy are to be believed, then Chelsea are plotting a move for Everton defender John Stones as a quality back up for Gary Cahill and John Terry.
The 20 year old has enjoyed a fine season for the Goodison Park outfit and Mourinho rates the player highly and considers him as one for the future. Stones has benefited from playing alongside Phil Jagielka at the heart of Everton’s defence and has shown great confidence with the ball at his feet and building from the back.
The Daily Mail though have reported that Everton manager Roberto Martinez will do everything he can to keep the player at the club. But he knows that Chelsea can make an offer which would be hard to refuse.
It is surprising on why Mourinho is chasing Stones despite having Kurt Zouma in his ranks. On second thoughts, Stones seems to be an enticing prospect as he would add to the list of home grown players.
But a regular starting eleven place at Chelsea will be hard to get for Stones, thus he might not be willing to make a move when he is at a development mode in his career.
