Apart from bolstering the strike department, Jose Mourinho would be keen to add one or two class central midfielders as well.

Chelsea’s transfer policy has undergone a sea-change approach in order to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules. Last January, they sold Juan Mata and Kevin de Bruyne in order to buy three players – Nemanja Matic, Mohamed Salah and Kurt Zouma.

The same trend is observed this season as well. Chelsea have already sold David Luiz to PSG and further exodus could take place as well in order to bring in top players like Diego Costa, Filipe Luis or may be Cesc Fabregas. John Obi Mikel, the Nigerian midfielder is facing an uncertain future at the club and could be sold in the summer.

According to reports in Spain, Valencia, cash fuelled by Peter Lim, the Singapore businessman, is looking to bring Mikel to Mestalla next season. Valencia based newspaper Superdeporte reports that Chelsea are demanding a fee in the region of €15m for the Nigerian international and that they’ve opened transfer negotiations with the Los Che.

Mikel has played a bit part role last season and it would be beneficial for him to move elsewhere in order to get regular games. The problem with Mikel is, he divides opinion among the fans. While football pundits are full of praise for his masterclass defensive midfield role, but many Chelsea fans doesn’t rate him at all. Inter Milan is also thought to be interested in the midfielder.
